(the MV really aids the song...the first time I heard the song is too poppish for me le, consider David Archuleta's vocals aren't that kind of feel. The title just reminds me of 'himbo'. lol)

Based on comments I see on net, seems more prefer David Archuleta's one. I think coz it's quite suitable for his age ba, can win over many teeny poppers' hearts. haha. But I feel the song didn't really shows his vocals much either. As for David Cook's, many commented it sounded like Daughtry pieces, and pales to David's previous renditions (maybe some of them have high expectations?) But actually I prefer David Cook's one coz it sounded more 'haunting' feel that will unearth your deepest feeling type of song. Both songs are quite marketable as they are quite commericalised and not-so-niche feel.
Well, looking forward to their full pledged albums! Hopefully the male winners from AI competitions will fare better than the females...last two seasons, the ladies did better overall.
P/S: I prefer David to Daughtry coz David can sing moving love songs pretty well, but if you prefer hard core rock that Daughtry is the man! *my sis loves Daughtry* hahaz.

Haha I went at first like to get both David cd after see review that David Cook cd get 3.5 stars while David A get 2.5 stars but seems cd store ladies highly recommend David A cd instead. I wonder why so I decide to listen to David Cook cd then found not to my liking. Every song seems similar style and its just like any other rock singer but when I ask girl to play another cd eg Snow Patrol can hear David Cook's voice really pale in comparison.
I decided to get Snow Patrol and David A and put David Cook cd back to shelf.
I have same feel. Daughtry was a better singer and songs to me a lot better. They both wrote songs but David Cook songs just sound similar in his cd. He wrote all the 10 songs.

well coz I'm not really a rock fan (although I don't mind slow rock), guess based on my listening experiences I can't just deduce who is better rock performer (Daughtry or David Cook).
But my stand is comparing both Davids. As for David A, I find the songs are just fitting for boys like his age, but he got tons better vocals when singing such teeny poopers type of song doesn't do his vocals much justice. Give a listen to his last two songs instead. But such songs are marketable (but not enough depth to represent David A as a credible singer), so not surprising that CD store ladies highly recommend David A's CD.
As for David C, maybe he's overrated, but somehow his music is more personalised than Daughtry, which I prefer. Whether will he become a big star, that will depends on how strong his fan base is or rather how his songs are generally accepted by non-fans.
